Our Objective
“Elimination of Hazards”
Mission statement:
To provide a professional service to those in a time of need with a sense of integrity, pride, and compassion for well being.
In case of emergency CALL 911.

The Fire district will be testing the outdoor warning devices (Tornado Sirens) on the first Monday of every month from May until September at 1200 noon. The siren will sound for 30 seconds.
Should it be a true emergency, you will hear a 90 second tone. The warning devices may be sounded multiple times until the emergency passes. The all clear will be a high low tone for 30 seconds and sounded once the emergency has passed. The outside warning devices are to notify people who may not be near a media source such as a radio, television, or weather radio. Please do not depend solely on the outside warning devise during severe weather. The most effective real time source to obtain weather information is through a weather radio that can be purchased for under $20.00 from electronics stores such as Radio Shack.
Please be patient as the site is being updated. Thank you!
Fort Lupton Fire Protection District Information
The Fort Lupton Fire Protection District is comprised of an
area covering approximately 100 square miles. The agency is a Special District
and operates on a tax levied on the residents within the District. Although we
provide fire service for the City, we are not part of the City Government. A
majority of the service area is outside of the city limits. The district ranges
from WCR 22 to WCR 6 and from WCR 17 to WCR 37. The department responds to 1000
service calls annually. About 80% of these calls are medically related. The
remaining 20% consist of some type of fire related call or are classified as
“other” service calls such as public assists. The fire department is dispatched
by the
The department is considered a combination department and is comprised of 10 career staff, two office personnel, a maintenance staff, 20 in district volunteers, and 20 out of district reserve firefighters. The fire district staffs career firefighters to provide 24-hour on duty staff coverage with immediate response. New volunteer members of the department are recruited year around and are required to complete a fire academy, hazardous materials awareness course, and medical First Responder training. They must also complete a one-year probationary period while successfully completing driving and pump operation skills for the trucks, CPR, and complete at least 36 hours of ongoing training yearly. Specialized training for members includes Paramedic School, Emergency Medical Technician, Hazardous Materials Operations/Technician, high and low angle rope rescue, ice rescue, vehicle extrication, farm extrication, and incident command training. Ongoing membership with the department requires a strong commitment to the community as much of the training is completed during a member’s personal time in addition to their regular full time profession.
The department provides basic life support (BLS) services for immediate life threatening emergencies. The Advanced Life Support (ALS) response unit is Weld County Ambulance Service (WCAS) Paramedic 3 is located in Fort Lupton at Fire Station 2. There is always a Paramedic and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) on the ambulance. They transport patients to the nearest appropriate hospital for diagnosis and treatment. When WCAS is not available then Platte Valley Ambulance and Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District Ambulance http://www.fffd.us/index.htm will provide backup ALS services. Two helicopter transport agencies provide air transport they are Air Life Denver http://www.airlifedenver.com/ and North Colorado Med Evac http://www.bannerhealth.com/
The Fire Marshal provides public education and prevention programs for the community. The Fire marshal is also responsible for the completion of Juvenile Fire Setter evaluations, conducts inspections of businesses, investigations of fires, provides smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, free gun locks to families in need, and oversees the storage and handling of hazardous materials.
